(OPEN):
COUPLES WHO TRAVEL TOGETHER HAVE HEALTHIER AND HAPPIER RELATIONSHIPS--FINDS A NEW "VALENTINE'S DAY"-SURVEY FROM THE "U-S TRAVEL ASSOCIATION".  SPECIFICALLY, 63-PERCENT OF THE COUPLES WHO WERE SURVEYED BELIEVE THAT A WEEKEND-GETAWAY IS MORE LIKELY TO SPARK ROMANCE IN THEIR RELATIONSHIP THAN EITHER LARGE OR SMALL GIFTS--WHILE 72-PERCENT BELIEVE THAT TRAVELING INSPIRES ROMANCE.  ROGER DOW IS THE ASSOCIATION'S PRESIDENT AND C-E-O...

(DOW):
"
OUR SURVEY REVEALS THAT TRAVEL CREATES A WIDE RANGE OF POSITIVE EFFECTS ON RELATIONSHIPS:  COUPLES WHO TRAVEL TOGETHER ARE SIGNIFICANTLY MORE LIKELY TO REPORT THAT THEIR RELATIONSHIP IS MORE ROMANTIC, MORE INTIMATE, AND MORE BALANCED.  ALSO, COUPLES WHO TRAVEL TOGETHER FEEL [THAT] THEY'RE CLOSER TO ONE ANOTHER--AND [ARE] MORE LIKELY TO REPORT THAT THEY ARE 'BEST FRIENDS'.  THE SURVEY [ALSO] ASKED THE COUPLES TO CONSIDER 13 DIFFERENT ASPECTS THAT DRIVE SATISFACTION IN A RELATIONSHIP--ASPECTS SUCH AS SPENDING MORE TIME TOGETHER, LAUGHING, HAVING FUN, [AND] SHARING SIMILAR GOALS AND DESIRES; AND, THEY SAID [THAT] THEY'RE MORE LIKELY TO IDENTIFY THOSE 13 THINGS IN DESCRIBING A PERFECT RELATIONSHIP."
