-- How Will You Use This Story? --

National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month--observed each year, in September--recognizes the accomplishments of people in recovery, the contributions of treatment providers, and advances in substance abuse treatment and recovery throughout the nation.  It is sponsored by the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) within the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

2008 marks the 19th-annual observance of Recovery Month; this year's theme is "Join the Voices of Recovery: Real People, Real Recovery".
