September 2010 is the 21st annual observance of "National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month"--celebrating individuals throughout the country who have achieved long-term recovery from substance-use disorders, and recognizing the contributions of the dedicated men and women working in the field who provide the needed treatment and recovery services.  "Recovery Month" aims to educate the public that behavioral health is essential to overall health, that prevention works, that treatment for substance-use and mental-health disorders is effective, and that people can--and do--recover.
