(MOREAU):
"GOVERNOR CUOMO HAS ACTED IRRESPONSIBLY, BY ISSUING A STATEWIDE BAN ON HYDRAULIC FRACTURING.
A POLITICALLY MOTIVATED BAN ON A PROVEN TECHNOLOGY THAT'S BEEN USED FOR OVER 60 YEARS IS SHORT-SIGHTED AND
RECKLESS--PARTICULARLY WHEN NEW YORK DEPENDS ON SAFELY PRODUCED NATURAL-GAS FROM PENNSYLVANIA.
IN FACT, WELL OVER 600-MILLION DOLLARS HAS BEEN DISTRIBUTED TO
PENNSYLVANIA'S COMMUNITIES, OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS--WHICH HAS ALLOWED ONCE-ECONOMICALLY-CHALLENGED AREAS TO THRIVE.
PENNSYLVANIA HAS ALSO BENEFITED FROM MORE THAN TWO-BILLION DOLLARS IN STATE- AND LOCAL-TAXES THAT HAVE BEEN GENERATED BY THE SHALE-ENERGY INDUSTRY.
WE'RE RESOLVED TO CONTINUE FIGHTING FOR THESE SAME BENEFITS IN NEW YORK.
AND, WE LOOK FORWARD TO CONTINUING TO WORK WITH NEW YORK'S LANDOWNERS AND OUR
LABOR-ALLIES--WHO ARE FOCUSED ON CREATING JOBS."
