READER SCRIPT THE NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE HAS TEAMED UP WITH AMERICA'S BLACK NEWSPAPERS, ON AN INITIATIVE THAT'S AIMED AT INCREASING THE COVERAGE OF CANCER-RELATED ISSUES IN THESE TRUSTED PUBLICATIONS. THE TWICE-MONTHLY "LIFELINES" CANCER-AWARENESS AND -EDUCATION COLUMNS--WHICH ARE PRODUCED IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE NATIONAL NEWSPAPER PUBLISHERS ASSOCIATION--ARE A GREAT WAY FOR AFRICAN-AMERICANS TO LEARN MORE ABOUT SUCH CANCER-RELATED ISSUES AS PREVENTION, AWARENESS, SCREENING, TREATMENT, SURVIVORSHIP, CAREGIVER-SUPPORT, AND CLINICAL-TRIALS. MANY NEWSPAPERS REGULARLY PUBLISH THE "LIFELINES" ARTICLES FROM THE NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE, BECAUSE THEY'RE SPECIALLY TAILORED TO AFRICAN-AMERICAN READERS. THE COLUMNS INFORM READERS ABOUT HOW VARIOUS CANCER-ISSUES DIRECTLY AFFECT THEM--AND WHERE TO GET HELP. THAT'S ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT FOR THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN COMMUNITY--GIVEN HOW THEY'RE AFFECTED BY CANCER-HEALTH DISPARITIES. FIND OUT MORE ABOUT "LIFELINES" AT "BLACK-PRESS-U-S-A"-DOT-COM.
