The Coalition for Future Mobility Urges Congress to Pass a Bill on Self-Driving Vehicles -- How Will You Use This Story? -- The Coalition for Future Mobility is urging Congress to pass the "Self-Drive Act"--a bill on self-driving vehicles that was unanimously approved, in July, by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. According to the Coalition, the list of benefits that Highly Automated Vehicles (HAVs) can provide touches every angle of personal mobility--including enhanced independence and self-sufficiency, and the reduction of crashes related to human error. The Coalition also believes that Congress now has a tremendous opportunity to accelerate the deployment of automated technologies. This legislation will soon be considered by the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. To learn more, visit coalitionforfuturemobility.com.
