(BLOOMGREN):
"AMERICA'S NATURAL-GAS- AND OIL-INDUSTRY IS TAKING ACTION, TO REDUCE METHANE- AND OTHER
EMISSIONS--AND SUPPORTS SMART, CLEAR REGULATION THAT ALLOWS VITAL DOMESTIC-ENERGY PRODUCTION TO CONTINUE, IN SAFE AND RESPONSIBLE WAYS.
THE E-P-A'S NEW METHANE-RULE MODIFICATIONS WILL REDUCE EMISSIONS--AND ENABLE OPERATORS TO ALSO MEET STRONG STATE-REQUIREMENTS THAT ARE IN PLACE IN MANY STATES.
BUT, WHILE THE REVISED E-P-A RULE HAS BEEN IN DEVELOPMENT, THE NATURAL-GAS- AND OIL-INDUSTRY
HASN'T BEEN WAITING TO DRIVE EMISSIONS LOWER: ACROSS FIVE OF THE
NATION'S LARGEST PRODUCING-REGIONS--LIKE IN TEXAS, NEW MEXICO, AND
PENNSYLVANIA--METHANE-EMISSION RATES HAVE DROPPED BY NEARLY 70-PERCENT, IN THE PAST DECADE.
AND, THAT'S EVEN AS NATURAL-GAS PRODUCTION IN THOSE REGIONS HAS TRIPLED.
WE LAUNCHED 'THE ENVIRONMENTAL PARTNERSHIP' IN 2017, TO ACCELERATE PROGRESS IN REDUCING METHANE-EMISSIONS.
TODAY, MORE THAN 83 COMPANIES ARE WORKING TOGETHER, ON THE SHARED GOAL OF DRIVING EMISSIONS LOWER; THEY INCLUDE 36 OF THE TOP 40 PRODUCERS OF AMERICAN NATURAL-GAS, AND RANGE FROM INTEGRATED, GLOBAL COMPANIES, TO SMALLER, INDEPENDENT BUSINESSES.
AMERICA NEEDS CLEANER, AFFORDABLE, AND RELIABLE U-S NATURAL-GAS--TO POWER HOMES, BUSINESSES, MANUFACTURING, AND AMERICAN JOBS.
AND, WE'RE TAKING ACTION--THROUGH THIS METHANE-REDUCING PARTNERSHIP--TO MEET OR EXCEED STATE- AND FEDERAL-REGULATIONS.
