(OPEN):
THIS YEAR, THERE ARE SEVERAL CHANGES TO HOW VIRGINIANS CAN CAST THEIR BALLOT.  AND, JAMES DAU--THE STATE-DIRECTOR OF "A-A-R-P VIRGINIA"--WANTS VOTERS TO KNOW ABOUT ALL OF THEIR OPTIONS...

(DAU):
"
THIS YEAR'S ELECTION-RESULTS WILL DETERMINE THE FUTURE OF IMPORTANT ISSUES--LIKE SOCIAL SECURITY, MEDICARE, AND THE PRICE OF PRESCRIPTION-DRUGS.  IT'S IMPORTANT THAT YOU MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD, BY VOTING.  BUT, IT'S MORE IMPORTANT THAT YOU VOTE SAFELY.  YOU HAVE OPTIONS--SO MAKE A PLAN.  VIRGINIA'S LAWMAKERS MADE IT SAFER AND EASIER FOR VOTERS TO CAST A BALLOT:  ELIGIBLE VOTERS CAN SAFELY CAST A BALLOT FROM HOME, WITHOUT AN EXCUSE--AND THEY NO LONGER NEED A WITNESS TO SIGN THEIR ABSENTEE BALLOT.  ABSENTEE BALLOTS MUST BE MAILED BY NOVEMBER 3RD TO COUNT--BUT EARLIER IS EVEN BETTER.  IF YOU WANT TO CAST YOUR BALLOT IN-PERSON, YOU CAN VOTE AT YOUR REGISTRAR'S OFFICE, OR AT A SATELLITE-LOCATION, THROUGH OCTOBER 31ST--OR AT YOUR LOCAL PRECINCT, ON ELECTION DAY.  YOU'LL STILL NEED TO SHOW AN I-D TO VOTE.  BUT, IT CAN BE SOMETHING WITHOUT A PICTURE--LIKE A RECENT UTILITY-BILL."
