(OPEN):
WITH LESS THAN A MONTH TO GO IN THIS YEAR'S CENSUS, JAMES DAU--THE
STATE-DIRECTOR OF "A-A-R-P VIRGINIA"--REMINDS ALL RESIDENTS THAT PARTICIPATING IS VERY IMPORTANT...
(DAU):
"THE CENSUS WILL HELP DECIDE FUNDING FOR CRITICALLY IMPORTANT LOCAL-NEEDS, LIKE EMERGENCY-RESPONSE SERVICES AND
SUPPORT-PROGRAMS--AS WELL AS HEALTH-INSURANCE THROUGH MEDICARE AND MEDICAID, AND RURAL HEALTH-CENTERS.
THE CENSUS WILL ALSO IMPACT FUNDING FOR VIRGINIA'S SCHOOLS AND ROADS. IN FACT, OUR COMMUNITIES WILL LOSE AROUND 20-THOUSAND DOLLARS, FOR EACH PERSON WHO
ISN'T COUNTED IN THE CENSUS. THAT'S WHY ALL VIRGINIANS SHOULD PARTICIPATE TODAY, AND GET COUNTED; EACH PERSON WHO
DOESN'T WILL SHORT-CHANGE THEIR OWN COMMUNITY, FOR THE NEXT DECADE."
