(OPEN):
WITH LESS THAN TWO WEEKS TO GO UNTIL ELECTION DAY, THE LATEST POLLING FROM "A-A-R-P PENNSYLVANIA" FINDS THAT THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE REMAINS VERY CLOSE, AMONG OLDER VOTERS.  BILL JOHNSTON-WALSH IS THE GROUP'S STATE-DIRECTOR...

(JOHNSTON-WALSH):
"
NEW POLLING FROM 'A-A-R-P' SHOWS [THAT] FORMER VICE-PRESIDENT BIDEN STILL HOLDS A SMALL LEAD OVER PRESIDENT TRUMP AMONG '50-PLUS' VOTERS; HOWEVER, THAT LEAD IS MUCH LARGER AMONG VOTERS WHO ARE 65 OR OLDER.  PENNSYLVANIANS WHO ARE 50 OR OLDER REPRESENT OVER 60-PERCENT OF ALL VOTERS; SO, IT'S CLEAR THAT '50-PLUS' PENNSYLVANIANS WILL PLAY A SIGNIFICANT ROLE, IN DETERMINING WHO WINS THE COMMONWEALTH'S 20 ELECTORAL-VOTES.  ONE THING THAT'S NOT IN DOUBT IS THAT OLDER VOTERS WILL TURN OUT FOR THIS ELECTION; THEY WANT THEIR VOICES HEARD--AND THEY'LL FIND A WAY TO VOTE SAFELY.  WE ALSO FOUND THAT OVER 60-PERCENT OF PENNSYLVANIA'S '50-PLUS' VOTERS PLAN TO CAST BALLOTS IN-PERSON ON ELECTION DAY--WHILE ALMOST 15-PERCENT HAVE ALREADY VOTED BY MAIL-IN BALLOT.  THE RESEARCH SHOWS [THAT] 60-PERCENT OF '50-PLUS' ADULTS ARE ALSO WORRIED NOW ABOUT GETTING CORONAVIRUS; THAT'S UP FROM ABOUT 55-PERCENT IN EARLY SEPTEMBER."
