THIS YEAR, THERE ARE SEVERAL CHANGES TO HOW MICHIGANDERS CAN CAST THEIR BALLOT.
AND, LISA DEDDEN COOPER--OF "A-A-R-P MICHIGAN"--WANTS VOTERS TO KNOW ABOUT ALL OF THEIR OPTIONS...
(COOPER):
"VOTING ABSENTEE HAS ALREADY PROVEN TO BE A POPULAR CHOICE FOR MICHIGAN.
AND, THOSE 50-AND-UP ARE HOLDING TRUE TO THEIR REPUTATION AS RELIABLE VOTERS.
MICHIGANDERS HAVE THREE SAFE OPTIONS: VOTE FROM HOME; VOTE IN-PERSON, AT THEIR POLLING-PLACE, ON ELECTION DAY; OR GO TO THEIR LOCAL
CLERK'S OFFICE EARLY, AND CAST AN ABSENTEE BALLOT THERE. MICHIGAN HAS
'NO REASON' ABSENTEE-VOTING--WHICH MEANS THAT ANY REGISTERED VOTER CAN REQUEST AN ABSENTEE BALLOT.
THREE-MILLION ABSENTEE BALLOTS HAVE ALREADY BEEN REQUESTED IN
MICHIGAN--AND ONE-POINT-THREE-MILLION HAVE BEEN RETURNED. VOTERS AGE-50-PLUS HAVE RETURNED ABSENTEE BALLOTS WITH A 55-PERCENT RATE, SO FAR."
